An Agreement Signed under the New Dairy Products Project with IFAD

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, representatives of IFAD’s Regional Office for Central Asia, project teams, as well as responsible heads of relevant ministries and agencies.
During the negotiations, the participants reviewed the portfolio of successfully implemented projects with IFAD’s participation in Uzbekistan, assessed their effectiveness and socio-economic impact, and exchanged views on new initiatives aimed at supporting small producers, expanding the participation of women and youth, and improving access to financial services.
As part of the meeting, a financial agreement was signed between the parties to fund the “Dairy Value Chain Development Project – Phase II.”
Under this agreement, IFAD is expected to allocate a loan amounting to USD 37.8 million. The project will be implemented in Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Syrdarya, and Surkhandarya regions and will aim to expand the participation of small producers, women, and youth in dairy production and processing.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation with IFAD, particularly in launching new initiatives in the areas of sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate adaptation.
