The Cabinet of Ministers is the supreme body of the executive power of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and ensures the effective functioning of the economy, social and spiritual spheres, the implementation of the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the decisions of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees, resolutions and orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Cabinet of Ministers is the collegiate organ heading single system of the executive authority in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Cabinet of Ministers consists of members of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan - the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan (hereinafter referred to as the Prime Minister), his deputies and ministers. The head of the government of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is an ex officio member of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Cabinet of Ministers coordinates and directs the work of the republican executive bodies.
The Cabinet of Ministers, within the limits of constitutional norms and in accordance with legislation, adopts resolutions and orders that are mandatory for execution throughout the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan by all bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations, officials and citizens.
Resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers are signed by the Prime Minister.
The current Cabinet of Ministers resigns its powers before the newly elected Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, but in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan continues its activities until the formation of a new Cabinet of Ministers.
The Cabinet of Ministers carries out its activities on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
